Interim Service vs Full Service: Understanding the Difference

Interim Service: An interim service is designed for the high-mileage driver who might cover more than 20,000 miles a year. It is recommended every 6 months or 6,000 miles, whichever comes first. This type of service is essential for maintaining the basic functions of your vehicle and ensuring it remains safe to drive between annual services.

During an interim service at Anker Service Station, we will:

  • Change the engine oil and oil filter
  • Check and top up all essential fluids (brake fluid, antifreeze coolant, windscreen washer fluid, power steering fluid)
  • Inspect the condition of the tyres, brakes, steering, and suspension
  • Check the lights, windscreen wipers, and washers
  • Inspect the exhaust system and emissions
  • Check for any leaks or other potential issues

Full Service

A full service is a more thorough examination of your vehicle, recommended every 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. It includes all the checks and changes of an interim service, plus a more detailed inspection of the vehicle’s systems and components.

During a full service at Anker Service Station, we will:

  • Perform all the tasks included in an interim service
  • Change the air filter, and if necessary, the fuel filter and spark plugs
  • Check and top up the gearbox and axle oil and other under bonnet fluids
  • Inspect the condition of the radiator and coolant hoses, and check the cooling system
  • Check the battery condition and charging system
  • Conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle’s brakes, removing the wheels to check the condition of the brake discs and pads
  • Examine the operation and condition of the doors, including locks and hinges
  • Inspect the condition of the exhaust, fuel, and brake lines
  • Conduct a comprehensive check of the vehicle’s suspension and drive system
